About Strattera

Strattera is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) that is approved for ADHD, depression, anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Strattera was first approved in the United States in 1985 by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children 12 years and older. It was the first generic drug for the treatment of ADHD in children.

About ADHD

The most common form of ADHD is the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which is a cluster of core symptoms of the disorder that are usually associated with an age group of 10 to 17 years. ADHD is characterized by high levels of inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, irritability, hyperactivity, impulsiveness and hyperactivity/impulsivity.

ADHD can be treated in children and adolescents who have been diagnosed with ADHD by a child psychologist or clinician in the pediatric outpatient setting. In adult ADHD, the symptoms can be treated by stimulants such as methylphenidate, atomoxetine, or topiramate.

Strattera is a new, more potent, selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) that is approved for the treatment of ADHD in children. Strattera is the generic version of atomoxetine, the first ADHD drug to be approved for this indication. The generic version is sold under the brand name Adderall for the treatment of hyperactivity/impulsivity and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Strattera is indicated for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children, adolescents, and adults (aged 12-17 years of age). Adolescents are often treated with stimulants such as methylphenidate or topiramate to improve attention and impulse control. Strattera may be used in combination with other ADHD medications or as an adjunct to stimulants to improve attention and impulse control.

Strattera is indicated for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adults, adolescents, and young adults who have been diagnosed with the disorder by a child psychologist or clinician in the pediatric outpatient setting.
